Josh has been a part of the Crusaders & the Hurricanes Super Rugby environments as an openside flanker and hooker.

 

He’s also accomplished this within 20 games and played in front of 48,000 people on just his 15th game as a hooker. Josh also represented Wellington Lions from 2019 – 2024, and played with the New Zealand U18s and 20s and graduated with a training degree in New Zealand while he was injured.

RUBEN LOVE

Ruben Love has been a part of the Hurricanes Super Rugby and is one of the key players the team looks to. Regarded as a hugely promising athlete, Ruben Love is a versatile player, excelling at both first five-eighths and fullback.

 

Ruben made history 2018 as the first player selected for the New Zealand Under-18 Māori rugby and cricket teams. In his final year of high school, he represented the Under-19 New Zealand cricket and the New Zealand Schools’ Rugby teams.

 

Ruben has played for the All Blacks XV, Hurricanes, Māori All Blacks, New Zealand U20’s, New Zealand U18’s, Hurricanes U18’s, Wellington Lions

Petrus du Plessis

Petrus du Plessis has been a part of Saracens (#153 caps), London Irish (#20 Caps), and Glasgow Warriors (#7 Caps). He was also the scrum coach of the Wallabies International team, Glasgow Warriors and is now in Japan with Kobe Steelers.

 

After playing his last game in January 2020 for Glasgow Warriors, Petrus has now turned his passion to study the “dark arts” of the game and promoting world-class technique by making player safety the top priority.

 

Petrus is an ex-professional rugby player and currently a professional rugby coach. South African born, he came over to the UK in 2001 after studying in Stellenbosch, playing for Stellenbosch Maties and Western Province.

 

His first Club in the UK was Liverpool St. Helens and shortly after that Orrell rugby club. In 2004 whilst studying a 4-year degree in physiotherapy at the University of Salford he played for Sedgley Park in Manchester for 5 seasons.

 

In 2009 there was a shortage of jobs within physiotherapy he decided to go full-time professional at the age of 27 with Nottingham rugby club.

 

It was only 9 months before Petrus was scouted by Premiership giant Saracens where he spent the next 8 seasons with the Premiership club having played 158 caps for them and winning the Premiership three times and the European Champions cup twice.

 

At the age of 36 he signed a new deal with London Irish in 2017 and the following year for Glasgow Warriors where he transitioned from playing to coaching the scrum.

 

He played his last game in January 2020 vs Treviso. For Petrus it became a passion to study the “dark arts” of the game and promoting world class technique by making player safety the top priority.

BEN O'KEEFFE

Ben was the main referee in the semi-final Rugby World Cup in 2024 and received the New Zealand Referee of the Year awards in 2018, 2021, and 2022. He was also rewarded in 2023 for refereeing 35 international test matches, making him the second most capped New Zealand test match referee in history.

 

BO’Keeffeffe started refereeing while at medical school in Dunedin and quickly progressed to referee senior and representative rugby in NZ. He made his High-Performance Referees Squad debut in 2012 and was another referee to have significant growth in 2016. That same year, he went on to make his international debut test when refereeing Samoa v Georgia. Most recently, he refereed South Africa versus Argentina in The Rugby Championship and then the clash between Wales and Australia and Ireland and the USA last November.

 

He is now an established Super Rugby referee team member and will be pushing the more senior referees for more of the marquee matches. He refereed nine games in 2019 and went on to referee at Japan’s 2019 Rugby World Cup. He has been appointed to referee Italy v Scotland and England v Wales in the 2020 Six Nation”.

Du'Plessis Kirifi

Dups has 65 appearances for the Hurricanes to his name and one of the best no.7’s in New Zealand.

 

He has outstanding leadership qualities, as he was named Wellington Lions captain at just the age of 21 a role he currently still holds.

His strong performances eventually translated into Kirifi getting a callup to the All Blacks squad in 2020. As one of the best no.7’s in the country, he has the ability to turn over opposition ball quickly. He was also with the All Blacks XV team in 2023.

KADE WOLHUTER

Kade Wolhuter is a South African rugby union player known for his impressive skills.

 

Born and raised in Cape Town, he developed his rugby prowess at Paul Roos Gymnasium. In 2018, Wolhuter ventured to France to further his youth career with Montpellier, gaining invaluable experience over two years.

 

Upon returning to South Africa, Wolhuter joined the Stormers and was selected for the Super Rugby Unlocked competition. He is currently with the Lions as he finishes his second ACL rehab.

DOMINIC BIRD

Birdy is a 2.06m second rower made was selected for the 2013 All Blacks wider training squad to train for the June test series against France and went on to make his international debut against Japan.  

 

Then moved north to the Chiefs ahead of the 2016 Super Rugby season, managing to become a regular starter in the team, and by 2017, had accumulated 41 Super Rugby caps.   

 

Bird has accomplished playing for the All Blacks, Racing 92, Hurricanes, Crusaders, Cheifs, Barbarians, Wellington Lions & Canterbury. He’s an expert in every area of professional rugby and is one of the best lineout operators in the world.

PETER LAKAI

Peter Lakai is a New Zealand rugby union player who plays for the Hurricanes in Super Rugby as a flanker or number 8. He was named in the Hurricanes squad for the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season. He was also a member of the Wellington Lions.

 

Selected for the New Zealand U20 team right out of high school, he made his NPC debut for Wellington at just 18 years old, becoming one of the youngest players to do so in a 2021 match against Southland.

 

Over the next two years, he continued to excel in the U20s, ultimately being named co-captain for the 2023 U20 World Championship in South Africa.

 

In 2022, he signed a National Development Contract with the Hurricanes to prepare young talents for professional rugby. That same year, he was awarded NZ Rugby Age-Grade Player of the Year and was a top three finalist for the Duane Monkley Medal in the NPC, all by age 19.

PEKAHOU COWAN

Pekahou is a technical operator who plays loosehead and tighthead prop for the Wallabies, Western Force (#135 Caps), Waratahs, Wellington Lions, and Ausrtinan U18s and U20s. 

 

Pek is now the head forward coach of Kyuden Voltex Fukuoka in Japan. He is a foundation Western Force player and Wallaby. He played and coached for the Shimizu Blue Sharks in Yokohama, Japan, and is now coaching in Fukuoka, Japan, as the assistant coach for Kyuden Vortex.

 

Seventeen years of professional playing experience and have completed four seasons as a player/coach in Japan as a Specialist scrum and forwards coach: Ranfurly shield holder and ITM champion with the Wellington Lions 2022.

 

“I have a huge passion for guiding our more complex youth on their journey in life, connecting with the community. Having had experience working alongside players and coaches, I’m looking to continue my development and share my knowledge within the BPM Performance Zone.”

TRAVIS GORDON

Travis Gordon, a standout rugby talent from South Africa, has made a name for himself as a formidable flanker. Currently playing for the Lions in the URC, Gordon is celebrated for his exceptional skills and natural leadership.

 

Captain of South Africa School Boys U18, Lions URC, Captain of Currie Cup U21 Championship winning team (3 years in a row). Travis Gordon’s combination of talent, leadership qualities, and dedication positions him as an exciting prospect in South African rugby. With his continued growth and development, he has the potential to make a significant impact not only at the provincial level but also on the broader rugby stage.

AMY RULE

Amy Rule, a burgeoning talent in New Zealand rugby, has been making waves in national and international circuits with her exceptional skills as a tighthead prop.

 

Amy shapes the future of women’s rugby in New Zealand and is a key figure in the Black Ferns squad, contributing significantly to their victories in various international tournaments.

She leads by example by playing for her Super Rugby team with Matatū and Otago & Canterbury.

BLAIR COWAN

Blair is an experienced, rugged Loose Forward who was born in NZ and has an outstanding rugby pedigree. He played for the Cornish Pirates, Worcester Warriors, Saracens and London Irish before heading to Japan to play for the Tokyo Black Rams in 2022.

 

Blair has also played at an international level, representing Scotland from 2014 – 2020.

 

His professional career began in England, after 153 appearances in 7 years at London Irish, Cowan left the club to pursue a new challenge in Japan with the Black rams playing 6 games and is now captain of San Diego Legion playing in the MLR.

 

San Diego Legion re-signed Blair Cowan for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 37-year-old flanker/No. 8 (38 in April) is 6’2″ and 235 lbs.

TOBY CROSBY

Toby has competed at every level of competition in New Zealand, from being a wrestling champion to Hurricanes Super Rugby U20 star number 8. Now, at the age of 21, he is changing codes to join the New Zealand U20’s Warriors in rugby league.

Toby has studied in strength & conditioning and has built himself from the ground up, benching 180kg and squatting 230kg, to name a few stats when he was 20.

 

“I’ve been fortunate to journey alongside some of the sport’s greatest minds. Our group strives to revolutionize the way this discipline is taught, making it accessible and empowering for all athletes. Lifting is more than just lifting; it’s about unlocking potential and smashing barriers, one lift or learning at a time.”

NATHAN HARRIS

Nate has achieved the highest status of an athlete in world rugby, being an All Black hooker achieving 22 international caps.

 

During this time, Nate has 62 caps for the Chiefs Super Rugby team and with one of the highest lineout throwing success rates in the world.

 

Nate also became Māori All Black and played with the Bay of Plenty Steamers. He was selected for the 2017 series against the British and Irish Lions for the All Blacks.

In 2021, he was forced to retire due to ongoing ankle surgeries and was medically unable to continue playing.
